It's the end of the weekend. My weekends actually only consists of a sunday. Saturday isn't exactly considered a weekend for me because I have 3 tuitions. Hahaha Physics from 9-11am, then Chemistry from 3.30-6.00pm, Math from 7.30-9.00pm. I'd like to study and get work done during the gaps in between but there's travelling time so I can't. That means I can only get my homework done on Friday night (during which i'm usually relaxing after a long week) or Sunday (which is when i do my work). This week, there isn't much homework though. So I went to the Bukit Timah Field to play with Barker people and some of their new poly friends. It was quite fun and I trained my legs with squats and step ups on friday to prepare for this game. The term has started for 2 weeks for most people, but for me it feels only 1 week. Our first week was 3 days long because there was only exams, and we didn't have to turn up on the days we didn't have papers. Which brings me to my results: not very good. I think i'm maybe average in AC? I'd like to think that I'm slightly better than that though, hahaha maybe 45th percentile? (:
GP: not yet get back
Physics: A
Chemistry: D
Math: U
Econs: U
Chinese: Obviously U
Haha I was slacking throughout chinese paper that I only got 52/160. I'm used to not caring about chinese la, so it's like that. Still got the barker blood in me. At least I tried my best for compo though, and I wrote it without a dictionary (because I was so focused on the next paper Physics and I forgot). I got 33/60 for Chinese compo, which I'm happy with, looking at the odds(: I couldn't really read the comprehension and close passage stuff in paper 2 though, which has been my weakness. So I only got 19/100.
The math tuition teacher says it's normal to fail math. She told us she didn't pass her math until her promos. Then she said if we stayed with her all the way she'll guarantee an A for us because all her past students got either As or Bs. I trust her la, I can tell she's good and knows her stuff.
Physics was very good, but i'm quite greedy you see, so actually hoped to get higher. And after reviewing my paper, actually it seems quite possible to maybe bring the marks to touch 60/75, not 56/75.
Chemistry was unfavourable though, I didn't exactly have time to complete the last part. I only realised time was running out like 10 minutes before the end, and that was when the dormant chem god inside of me woke up to rush through the last part with almost pure instinct or i'd never have passed. Well, he'd better wake up earlier next time. And I want that A for chem.
Econs was surprising, I didn't expect to fail because I felt the paper was quick fun. But after looking at my script, i'll admit maybe I wasn't economically-sound concept-wise. Have to work on it! And actually I didn't study econs until the day before. Still, I doubt I'd have been able to do any much better.
Overall this exams have been a life lesson. I hope to improve during my promos. Luckily it only takes up 30% of the whole year. My form tutor was saying it was unrealistic to set a target of A when you get U. But that was exactly what happened for Physics. I got 10/35 for my first test, and now i got an A. Haha but I can probably attribute that to my diligence in studying for physics, where I did a lot of questions and really strengthened my concept. I did chem papers too but was slightly complacent, probably. Didn't study for econs and chinese but I got the U. I did the whole revision set for Math but still got a U. Math's results can be blamed on the retardedly hard paper. As pointed out by the tutor, AC always set's very difficult math papers. So this is probably a case of you reap what you sow;how much effort you put in determines your result.
Spain VS Netherlands tonight! I'm staying up to watch (: I haven't got the chance to watch matches live except Mexico VS South Africa and Germany VS Australia. Tonight's my last chance (:
