Hey! So, I went shopping for prom with jeremy seow today. And between the two blazers in the pictures, I chose the green one. It's the cheaper one of the two, and overall it helped me to lower the cost. But after looking at the picture of the whole outfit with the brown blazer, I'm feeling a bit regretful.
I had wanted the brown one initially, it's velvet too, super nice material! But it didn't match. I dont know why, somehow in the photo here it looks very good. Such that i'm regretting not buying it. But in reality it doesn't really look matching. Plus I definitely need another colour of shoes to go with this one. And the pants aren't so complementing either. Which means I'll have to spend on buying a new pair of pants (not before having to HUNT for one), and then I have to get a pair of new shoes, probably from Pedro. They have nice shoes nowadays, but before I get the shoes, I need to know how the pants are like for matching purposes. That basically means i'm required to buy both quite simultaneously, which is difficult and worse still, time-consuming. That will also mean that my total cost will be more expensive brown blazer + new cream difficult-to-find pants + new shoes. And since I already got 2 brown shoes, it doesn't really make sense to buy an additional pair of brown shoes again, just because of a slightly different shade. And I don't find black shoes so nice either. Not that interesting.
For the other outfit, the pants + blazer matched really well. Like the pants had a sort of very slight green tone to it, and the blazer being green meant they went well. Furthermore, the shoes seemed to go well overall with the outfit, and not sticking out like a sore thumb. So in total, I only spent like the cost of the green blazer, which cost about $50 less, and matched better, with less trouble. Only downside is the green blazer sleeves are kind of long and I can't alter it. Whereas it is possible to alter the brown one.
And that sums up my self-validation for choosing the green blazer instead of the brown velvet. I feel less regretful now:) Thanks for listening!:)
