Camp can be summarised in 2 words-waste time. But since i am in a mood of writing quite a bit, not too much though, i shall elaborate. 1st day we reached there and did full of waste time activities. Nobody was happy. 2nd day we went dragon boating and 'amazing race'. Not very amazing though as it was raining so they took us to the resort lobby and gave us towels to dry ourselves. Neither was anyone happy on this day. 3rd day there was mountain climbing and mangrove planting. Mountain climbing rocks! except that the people think its impossible to run up cos its so slippery when in fact, running makes things easier because there will be momentum. Tested and proven by me but the group continues to 'crawl' up the mountain. Everybody keeps slipping even at the early stages. I only started slipping at the last 50m from the summit. The angle there was close to vertical and moreover it was raining HEAVILY. Alot of people kept squeaking about their cuts and stuff. I didnt have to cos i was 90% covered. I wore long track pants, long sleeved shirt with the collar surrounding the whole neck. Then there was also gloves on my hands which only exposed my fingertips. Exposed areas: Head and fingertips. Only get one poke by a thorn thats all. No other injuries while everyone else were complaining about their blisters and some other crap. Who ask them never fully protect themselves. Some wore short sleeve with long pants. Some short sleeve with shorts. Few were fully protected. But i must thank the few people who helped out at the last 50m of the mountain. They reach for your hand and swing you up to another guy and that guy swings you up to another guy and that guy swings you to a guy holding a branch and you grab the branch and climb up. I think they must had quite a easy time throwing me up looking at my weight. Down the mountain was quite fun because we could slide. Feels like sliding down a slide in a swimming pool. I was like "weeeeeeeeee". The mountain guides helped alot too. They dam pro(not that surprising cos they live at the village beside the mountain but still...). Wear only a short sleeve shirt, torn jeans and slippers(one even went bare-footed) they could go up the mountain so easily without any injuries whatsoever and still can even help us by pulling us up the mountain. Pro or not. Mangrove was crap. We didnt do the planting because no time. At night we had for once some good food and watched a movie called "we were soldiers". Their vocabulary very 'colourful'. I didnt bother to watch cos it was so difficult to follow so i went to sleep. Tonight everybody was quite happy. Many people were smiling. 4th day some people didnt sleep the night before because their tents were wrecked by the rain. So they stayed up the whole night and chatted. I went to sleep but kept getting up because it was the last day already and i was too excited. Finally going home!
You must be thinking, the camp so fun and so many activities how come not nice. The activities are nice. But not the instructors and teachers. They are cold-blooded people. Torture you such that you would rather be a PoW(a little exaggeration sorry). Plus i didnt go there out of my own will. Neither did i go there with a neutral attidude(go or dun go also can). I went there against my own will. I was NO i dont want to go but in the end i was forced. I cant do things well if i am forced to do them against my will. Like fishing is one example. I could go there 5 day 4 night i dont mind. Because i go there out of my own will. But this camp i didnt. Moreover it was one day more. Normally camps are 3 day 2 night. This one is 4 day 3 night. Without the instructors and teachers i think the camp will be soooooo fun.
